ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES

Ndubaluba 's lively-hood is based on the environment around us. Therefore knowledge about and protection of the environment are very important to us.

"The young trees of today are tomorrow's forest",  Zambian Proverb.

Environmental education is becoming increasingly important to the future of Zambia as pollution and deforestation rapidly spread. As the Zambian proverb says, it is the people of today who will determine the future and we need to invest in environmental education for them.

The main focus of environmental camps is to investigate how the different aspects of the ecosystem inter-act, so communicating how modifying one area of our environment, effects the whole.

However, specific projects would include:

  • Trees: identification, uses and the habitats they provide

  • Animals: game animals, conservation, camouflage, food webs, etc.

  • Birds: identification and habitat exploration

  • Our local Mini-habitat: the uniqueness and conservation importance

  • Human Impact: management and usage of the local environment.

Environmental camps can be mixed with other outdoor experiences or can be the main focus of the camp, depending on the group's requirements.
